"Presente Continuo"

This is our work "Presente Continuo" ("Present Continuous") It consists of a real mirrored methacrylate fan and an engine. When the fan is stopped, the blades reflect an image that is fragmented because of the gap between them. When the fan is working, the image becomes complete (apparently) as the gaps are not visible anymore due to velocity.

The work is a metaphor about technology based on fast transmissions, where the flow of images and information is constantly refreshed.

Silvia and I have to thank Pedro Pacheco for being the very first person who considered the fan as an important object. Since then, we have been developing ideas about that. The mirrored fan has taken two years to become a serious work.
