Nor "here" nor "there" but quite the opposite

We are working on the words "aquí" (here) and "allí" (there) as terms that establish two different and individual locations by determining two relative and interchangeable spaces. That way, the couple "aquí" - "allí" work as a mechanism that relates people at a distance through their own positions in the space.

The quote: "usted está aquí" (you are here) displayed on maps in the street is a system of bearings based on representation. Somehow people become spectators who gaze at their position just for a while.

The images are some tests on our research. The maps of Madrid and London depict Silvia's and mine (from where we usually talk by skype) They are placed one on top of the other by matching up each hypothetical location or in other words, our own conception of "aquí" which is, respectively, the conception of "allí" for the other one. Both images comprise
a new confusing area or space of encounter.

No te lo dije, pero me encanta. Es un planteamiento muy simple y muy interesante, overlaying.

He estado pensando en esto, creo que podríamos ampliar el tipo de mapas, se podría trabajar de la misma manera con fotos. Hablamos!
